Customs & Trade Compliance Specialist with Global Trade Management expertise wanted for our HQ office in Waregem, Belgium
Are you an expert in customs legislation and international trade, with a passion for optimizing processes through advanced GTM systems? Your Role
* You will be responsible for the correct application of customs legislation and trade regulations.
* You will drive the management, optimization and further development of our GTM system.
* You lead and support the integration of new GTM functionalities and modules.
* You analyze existing processes and identify opportunities for automation and efficiency improvement through the GTM system.
* You advise on product classification, manage rules of origin and perform export controls, using the capabilities of the GTM system.
* You advise internal stakeholders on customs and trade compliance issues and train them in the use of the GTM system.
* You will stay abreast of the latest developments in customs legislation, international trade and GTM technologies.
Your Profile
* Bachelor degree or equivalent by experience;
* 2 - 3 years of experience and at least 2 years of experience in a customs and trade compliance related function;
* Experience in legal analysis, compliance, risk management;
* Knowledge of global customs regulations, trade compliance and logistics processes;
* Familiarity with trade compliance software and tools and/or ERP systems;
* Good understanding of the functioning of processes and procedures;
* Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across departments;
* Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to resolving issues;
* Knowledge of risk, internal control, internal audit and monitoring techniques is considered a plus;
* Fluent in Dutch & English both spoken and written, French is a plus.
