We continuously expand our portfolio, which also includes data centre (DC) projects.
Today, Goodman is seeking an experienced Head of Health & Safety for Continental Europe to join our team. The ideal candidate will bridge the Environmental, Health, Safety and Social (H&S) demands of our existing and prospective DC clients with our evolving business approach, translating into strategic initiatives and resulting in operational H&S excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Health and Safety Leadership:
1. Provide leadership and strategic direction for all health and safety aspects of the CE scope.
2. Lead the H&S strategy to ensure the highest standards over our CE portfolio.
3. Promote and lead a safety-first culture across all stakeholders, ensuring adherence to company and our client’s safety standards.
Stakeholder Management:
1. Engage with customers to understand their H&S expectations and requirements, ensuring these are integrated into project plans and execution.
2. Maintain positive and collaborative relationships with customers, regularly communicating H&S updates, metrics, milestones, key decisions and improvement initiatives.
3. Coordinate contractors.
Team Collaboration and Communication:
1. Communicate the client’s needs to the operational teams and motivate them to achieve the highest standards.
2. Establish and maintain effective communication channels and a transparent escalation procedure for H&S matters.
Process Improvement and Execution Oversight:
1. Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to integrate H&S considerations in all life-cycle processes, including design development, procurement, pre-construction, construction, commissioning, handover, stabilized asset management, and deconstruction.
2. Oversee the preparation and approval of safety plans, method statements, and risk assessments, in collaboration with local in-house safety experts, and the correct implementation and effectiveness thereof.
Reporting:
1. Coordinate and streamline the reporting process.
Qualifications:
1. A minimum of 10 years of experience in a Health and Safety management role, preferably including experience in the construction of data centers and/or other critical infrastructure (e.g., power plants, chemical production plants).
2. Proven track record of implementing and managing H&S strategies on large-scale, technically complex projects.
3. Strong leadership, decision-making, communication and commercial skills.
4. Fluent in English.
5. Degree or equivalent qualification in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
6. Knowledge of Health & Safety certifications.
