ROLE:
Translational Medicine Lead
Within its Translational Medicine (TM) Department, iTeos is seeking a highly motivated and creative TM Lead with expertise in Immuno-Oncology to implement and support all TM activities related to one of our clinical-stage programs. The selected candidate will be part of the Biomarker Strategy team and will work in close interaction with the other members of the department, as well as pre-clinical R&D and clinical development. We expect the candidate to support the discovery and implementation of biomarkers for pharmacodynamic analysis and patient selection on multiple clinical trials. The selected candidate will also play a key role in the analysis and reporting of clinical biomarker data. Moreover, in close interaction with the clinical team, the candidate is expected to support decision making related to the overall clinical strategy.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Accountable for all all TM activities related to a key Immune-Oncology clinical-stage program.
2. Actively participating and leading the definition, development and implementation of biomarker strategies on multiple clinical trials in close interaction with the members of the project team.
3. Overseeing translational scientific activities, internally and in collaboration with academic partners, to build a scientific rationale to select indications and/or combinations to support the clinical strategy of the project.
4. Actively contributing to the selection, development, qualification/validation of clinically applicable biomarker assays including pharmacodynamic, predictive, prognostic, and safety biomarkers internally and/or in external analytical laboratories.
5. Overseeing pharmacodynamic and patient selection biomarker testing and complex data analysis across several functional areas.
6. Supervise a small team composed of 1-2 Biomarker Lead(s).
7. Contributing to the strategy, growth and further development of TM, by being an active member of the TM Leadership team.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
8. PhD, MD/PhD in Cancer Biology, Immunology or Molecular Biology with relevant post-doctoral experience in Immuno-Oncology.
9. 3 - 5 years experience in clinical development and/or biomarker strategy support in the biotech or pharma industry.
10. Experience in the discovery and characterization of clinical biomarkers using flow cytometry, proteomics, molecular biology or immunohistochemistry. Experience in advanced spatial profiling technologies and bioinformatics is a plus.
11. Strong motivation to deliver impactful biomarker to enable the development of precise cancer drugs.
12. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, assertive personality. People management experience desired.
13. Very well organized and resilient, you are able to adapt to changes in priorities and to work effectively in a fast paced environment.
14. Fluent in English (oral and written). French is a plus.
