We are looking for Vice President Investor Relations.
Scope of the job
The Vice President of Investor Relations will be responsible for crafting and executing an investor relations strategy that accurately communicates Galapagos’ value proposition, progress, and business outlook to the investment community. This individual will work closely with executive leadership and senior functional heads to deliver clear, consistent, and compelling messaging that supports the company’s goals and enhances shareholder value.
Your role
1. Investor Strategy & Communication:
* Develop and implement a comprehensive investor relations strategy aligned with the company’s goals and financial targets.
* Manage the company’s communication with investors, analysts, and stakeholders, ensuring consistent and transparent messaging on company performance, pipeline updates, milestones, and market positioning.
* Prepare presentations, press releases, earnings announcements, and investor updates.
1. Stakeholder Engagement:
* Build and maintain strong relationships with key investors, analysts, and shareholders.
* Act as the primary point of contact for the investment community, fielding inquiries, coordinating meetings, and gathering feedback to inform senior management of market sentiment.
* Organize and lead investor events, including earnings calls, investor days, conference calls, and roadshows to broaden awareness and support investor engagement.
1. Market Intelligence & Analysis:
* Conduct comprehensive analysis of market trends, competitor activities, and investor sentiment to provide actionable insights to senior management and support strategic decision-making.
* Monitor trading and shareholder activity, ensuring proactive engagement with top shareholders and identifying new potential investor opportunities.
* Report regularly to senior leadership on the market’s perception of the company.
1. Financial Reporting & Compliance:
* Collaborate with finance, legal, and communications teams to ensure accurate and compliant financial reporting.
* Partner with senior leaders to create a narrative around the company’s performance, future strategy, and financial outlook.
* Stay current with regulatory requirements and ensure alignment with public disclosure policies, including compliance with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and other regulatory bodies.
1. Internal Collaboration & Influence:
* Work closely with the executive team to develop a clear, aligned message for investors that reflects company strategy and growth potential.
* Serve as an internal advisor on capital market expectations, influencing strategies for funding, partnerships, and corporate development.
* Provide coaching and preparation for executives involved in investor-facing activities to ensure effective communication.
Who are you?
* Bachelor’s degree in Science, Finance, Business, or a related field; MBA or CFA preferred.
* 10+ years of experience in investor relations, finance, or corporate communications, with at least 5 years in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry.
* Proven track record of building relationships with institutional investors, analysts, and the financial community.
* Deep understanding of the biotech industry, including drug development cycles, regulatory milestones, and the competitive landscape.
* Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex scientific and financial information clearly and concisely.
* Strong analytical skills and market intelligence to understand and communicate the impact of external factors on company performance.
* Experience managing investor relations functions in a publicly traded company is a plus.

Base compensation for this position ranges from 205800 USD gross to 382200 USD gross. Actual base compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors including experience, qualifications, job-related knowledge, demonstrated skills, and geographic location. The company reserves the right to modify base salary ranges at any time. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in both Galapagos’ performance bonus plan and long-term incentive program.
