Your mission:
The Risk Management department is in charge of:
1. Define appropriate risk management framework, policies and governance
2. Set-up an integrated risk management system & monitor the evolution of the risk profile
3. Assess financial risks and provide opinions to investments operations
4. Monitor financial/non-financial risks and provide recommendations regarding mitigating actions
5. Manage risk activities in the context of Solvency II (ORSA, Regulatory reporting, etc)
6. Act as a business partner and not only a control functions
7. Own the Internal Control Framework and independently assess design/effectiveness of controls.
Your responsibilities:
8. Keeping a wide transversal vision of the Risk Management Function, focused on qualitative and quantitative aspects
9. Validate the Solvency Capital Requirement for Interest Rates Risk, and perform/document necessary controls
10. Monitoring the insurance activities, participating to decision-making and monitoring bodies, when required, related to the Life business as well as to the Investment Strategy
11. Defining, measuring and monitoring key risk indicators, guarantying their use in the day-to-day decision-making of the business lines
12. Participate in the implementation and issuing risk opinions on new tariffs, products or investment strategies and quantifying their relative impacts on the Risk Profile
13. Playing a key role of support to the Risk Management department and the operational lines regarding all aspects of the Risk Management frameworks (risk policies, guidelines, cascading down the risk appetite limits) and related to regulatory environment (Solvency II)
14. Carrying out follow-up and control activities, especially for risk appetite limits, the application of risk policies and guidelines
15. Contributing to the ORSA process.
Your profile:
16. You are holder of a Master in Actuarial science or equivalent qualification
17. You have a background or strong understanding of financial/ALM/hedging risks management in a life insurance company
18. You have a strong understanding of Solvency II framework (interest rates risk, market risk, Life risk)
19. You have a minimum of 3 years of experience in financial risk management
20. You are highly organised, able to work to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment and to manage conflicting priorities, in co-ordination with stakeholders
21. You are flexible and with a positive attitude towards change; resilient, self-motivated
22. You can work under limited direction and independently determines and develops approach to solutions
23. You are able to make proposals for improving ways of doing things
24. You are a strong team player at all levels, who collaborates easily and effectively across functions and with Athora Belgium stakeholders to achieve results
25. You are confident to voice opinions and provide constructive challenge; able to convince others and make them part of the solution
26. You have strong analytical skills with articulated communication skills
27. You are fluent in French and / or Dutch. As part of your international contacts, you understand English and are able to write reports and emails in English.
