The Waste Specialist ensures the efficient and compliant management of waste cargoes and recycling materials, with a strong focus on adhering to transport legislation, including EU waste regulations and the Basel Convention. The role involves coordinating transport activities, promoting sustainable practices, and contributing to the circular economy by ensuring that legal and environmental standards are met. The ideal candidate will have in its scope the following key responsibilities: Compliance verification: Ensure correct administration of waste cargo flows and recycling products. Coordination with global network of local agencies: Coordinating transports and ensuring that they comply with the relevant supranational and local transport legislation. Communication with external stakeholders: Communicate with customers about the logistical aspects in accordance with national and international waste regulations. Improving Efficiency: Contribute to improving processes to ensure sustainability and efficiency. Candidates should possess a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role and thorough knowledge of waste legislation. Experience working in a shipping line, container terminal and/or seagoing experience is highly regarded, and a deep understanding of container liner business and container stowage planning is essential. Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook,) is required. Experience with Power BI is an asset. Fluency in both spoken and written English is mandatory; proficiency in Dutch spoken and written is a plus. The ability to work flexible hours and handle pressure effectively is crucial.
