Thales Cyber Security Products (CSP) division creates some of the worlds’ best and most innovative Data Protection products.
The Pre-Sales Consultant works closely with the regional Sales teams. He/She acts as a technical expert on projects involving data protection and encryption with both partners and customers, who are using our market-leading PKI, Key Management, and Data Protection portfolio; including CipherTrust, Payshield, Luna HSMs, and Imperva Data Security Platform.
As a Pre-sales Consultant, you will:
· Collaborate with the Regional sales team to engage with partners and customers who require data protection solutions.
· Work closely with the prospects to gather information on their use-case, application environment and data flows to fully understand their needs.
· Be involved in the Proof-of-Concept phase of the sales engagement.
· Provide configuration assistance or customization.
· Present the solutions, respond to written enquiries such as RFIs and RFPs.
· Meet the customers (approx. 50% of the time).
Required Kills:
• Technical degree (Comp Science/Engineering IS, Maths or similar) or equivalent work experience
• 3+ years’ experience in a position involving customer engagement and team working within IT or a related field
• Technically hands-on with skills in problem solving, development and architecture design
• Experience presenting to both business and technical personnel
• Experience authoring product-focused technical documents such as test reports, technical docs, RFIs, RFPs, Lab Guides etc.
Preferred Skills:
• Experience of Cryptography & Security; PKI, digital signatures, certificates, TLS, encryption and hashing techniques, ideally knowledge of APIs such as PKCS #11, Microsoft CSP/CNG, OpenSSL, Java JCA/JCE
• Experience with virtualization products and cloud service provider offerings such as VMWare, HyperV, XEN, KVM, Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, IBM Cloud, Docker, CloudFoundry, or similar
• Experience or knowledge with Database product offering such as Oracle, MS SQL, IBM DB, MySQL and Postgres DB, especially in the domain of database auditing and monitoring
• Experience with scripting and/or software development on Windows and/or Linux systems
It would be a plus:
• Awareness of ANSI payment standards such as TR31, TR34, TR39, X9.24
• Experience or knowledge of payment-related technologies such as EMV, MEPS, APACS, ZKA, C-TAP, 3D Secure 2.0, Payment Tokenization, PCI standards
• Experience or knowledge with Security Information and Event Management systems (SIEM), Incident Management and Response procedures and Security Orchestration, Automation and Response systems (SOAR)
