Description
The HR Manager will be responsible for running and overseeing all aspects of human resources practices and processes. This role will support business needs, ensure the proper implementation of our business objectives and oversees and manages all stages of the employee lifecycle. The HR Manager reports to the General Manager and manages one HR Generalist. The HR Manager will be instrumental in shaping the firm’s culture, managing lawyer and employee relations and ensuring compliance with employment laws. This role is especially pivotal in recruiting and retaining top legal talent, ensuring the firm continues to thrive and excel.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement HR strategies, initiatives and policies aligned with overall business objectives for both lawyers and employees.
* Manage and implement the recruitment and selection process to attract top-tier legal professionals and dedicated employees (or support staff). Maintain strong relationships with legal search firms, universities and student bodies.
* Work with the Partners and managers within the different departments to understand their staffing needs and regularly review the development of their teams and team members.
* Handles the onboarding ensuring a smooth integration into the organization, supports ongoing career growth and performance management, implements strategies to foster employee engagement and handles the off-boarding process ensuring a positive exit experience.
* Ensure the ongoing management, development and optimisation of the organization’s compensation and benefits program to remain competitive in the market.
* Define, develop and implement the yearly learning and development plan for lawyers and employees.
* Oversee the allocation, monitoring, and optimisation of the HR budget and track, analyse, and report on key HR performance metrics to assess the efficiency and effectiveness of HR initiatives.
* Initiate employer branding initiatives in collaboration with the Marketing department. Recommend other important HR projects in line with the firm’s strategy and objectives.
* Lead HR administration including Pay-roll, hospitalisation and group insurance and other processes and documents. Manage the roll out and implementation of imposed guidelines regarding collective labour agreements within PC 336 and others.
* Coach and manage 1 full-time HR resource.
Profile
* Proven working experience as HR manager with minimum 5 to 10 years of experience preferably in the professional services sector, good knowledge of Belgian social legislation and good understanding of the statutes of self-employed collaborators and salaried employees.
* Extensive experience in recruitment is required, along with a strong background in the design, development and implementation of learning and development programs. Additionally, a solid understanding of payroll processes is required
* Able to communicate in Dutch, French and English both verbal and written.
* People oriented, competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels in the firm.
* Results driven, can navigate a wide range of tasks both on the strategic and practical level and has strong communication and presentation skills.
* Excellent people manager and mediator who can nurture a positive working environment.
* Capabilities in using HR systems and databases and tools. Experience with human resource metrics. Interest in new tools to enhance quality of work and improve efficiency.
* Having a qualification as a Prevention Advisor is considered an advantage.
