Context:
FINOPS Transverse team in charge of managing transversal projects, lead & accelerate harmonization, improvement, automation and digitalization of FINOPS activities & processes.
Role:
Candidate will work as part of the FINOPS Transverse team. Candidate will be responsible for driving the data transformation within the business in close coordination with the business lead(s) and the transversal data functions & data council. Communicates data strategy definition and execution to business and IT stakeholders.
The Data Scientist is a key & strategic matrixed between EC FinOps & 0perational Excellence.
She/He is a senior individual who bears responsibility for FinOps overall data transformation including data governance, quality management, and effective usage of data to deliver business value.
As Data Scientist, you will be responsible for:
1. Designing and implementing new business use cases, data strategies, governance, projects and tools
2. Acting as Data science expert for GEMS (tools, methodology)
3. Ensuring Market intelligence on Data Science topics
4. Liaising with other Engie Data Science communities and projects
5. Lead data related projects
6. Manage / document the collection, storage, management, quality and protection of data
7. Establish and develop a Data-driven culture
As a Data Scientist will have to :
8. Be a senior and a referent on all data related topics within FinOps
9. Work with FinOps managers to share a common understanding of FinOps challenges regarding data projects
10. Work with FinOps members to provide expertise skills, good practices and support
11. Understand FinOps needs and seek to deliver them the best result
12. Ensure business project coordination in close partnership with FinOps & other stakeholders
13. Propose out of the box ideas and challenge status quo when necessary
14. Develop strong partnership with all front to FINOPS teams inclusive of IT
15. Facilitate & support of new activities
16. Contribute to continuous improvement of procedures & processes
Hard skills:
Must have:
17. Strong academic background, ideally from Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or Computing
18. Strong background in Data related technologies, methodologies & strategies
19. Experience in a commodity trading environment is a plus
20. Power and gas markets fundamentals knowledge is a plus
21. In-depth knowledge of front to accounting FinOps processes
22. Data tools : PowerBI, DataIQ, CDH…
23. Able to develop in Python or/and VBA
24. Good knowledge of GEMS & FinOps IS landscape
25. Understand ERPs (SAP) systems, capabilities & limitations
26. Office 365

Education and professional background:
29. Master Degree
30. More than 10 years of experience in finance/BO business, data, project management and IT

33. Working place is Paris or Brussels
34. You will need to travel regularly in Brussels (in you are based in Paris) or in Paris (if you are based in Brussels)
