ABOUT THE ROLEThe position is designed to consolidate and expand the participation of MedTech Europe members in EU Research and Innovation programmes and initiatives, with a focus on the Innovative Health Initiative (IHI), of which MedTech Europe is a member. Some of its members are actively participating in the IHI programme, and many more could also benefit from it. Beyond IHI, there is an untapped variety of funding and collaborative opportunities to explore at EU and international level. Providing members with guidelines and directions should result in a better representation of the medtech sector in these funding and collaborative opportunities. Please note that this is a 2-year assignment or consultancy contract, with the possibility for extension.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESPromote beneficial EU Research & Innovation programmes and initiatives to MedTech Europe membersInform, encourage and train MedTech Europe members about the opportunities for funding and cooperation in EU programmesInterface with MedTech Europe members and healthcare stakeholders to help them navigate questions about EU Research and Innovation programmesIn close collaboration with its External Affairs department, represent MedTech Europe towards relevant EU and international institutions, and build and nurture an effective networkDevelop MedTech Europe’s leadership, vision, strategy and the execution of action plans in the Research & Innovation environment in EuropePosition the medtech industry as a key contributor to Europe’s Research and Innovation environmentLead and animate MedTech Europe’s Research & Innovation Committee and other relevant working groups, as needed, by facilitating and coordinating debate and consensus-building among membersDraft position papers, presentations and communications materialsManage partnerships with other life science industry associations, especially EFPIA and COCIRAdvise, update, and receive guidance from, the MedTech Europe CEO and Board of DirectorsIf required, participate to the Leadership Team of MedTech EuropeSKILLS AND COMPETENCESRequirements and QualificationsMaster’s Degree in Science or Business/ManagementMinimum 15 years of experience and minimum 5 years of experience in Research & Innovation, Project Management, ConsultingGood knowledge of current and upcoming EU Research & Innovation funding programmesResearch & Innovation (experience in preparing and managing EU-funded projects)You are accustomed to communicating (written and spoken) at all levels with diverse internal and external stakeholdersKnowledge of MedTech (knowledge about industrial R&I in the healthcare industry)Excellent knowledge of spoken and written English, any additional EU language is considered a plusPersonal Qualities and Attributes You are a highly motivated self-starter who enjoys being challengedStrategic, independent, and a team player attitudeOrganizational skills and diplomatic communication skillsSkilled in consensus buildingApplication InstructionsInterested candidates should send a CV in English and a motivation letter to (HR@medtecheurope.org) with the Subject: R&I Lead - Application.Deadline of submission: 30 April 2025.
