About the Role
As Therapeutic Area Lead Oncology/Hematology, you will oversee and develop a team of Medical Managers and Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs). You will play a strategic role in shaping the medical plan, ensuring excellence in execution, and guiding the team through multiple upcoming product launches. Working cross-functionally, you will collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders to drive medical excellence and improve patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
* Leadership & Team Development – Lead, coach, and inspire a team of medical professionals, fostering a high-performance culture.
* Strategic Planning – Develop and implement the medical plan in alignment with corporate strategy and business objectives.
* Medical Expertise – Stay at the forefront of scientific advancements in oncology and hematology, translating insights into impactful strategies.
* Cross-Functional Collaboration – Work closely with Market Access, Regulatory Affairs, Commercial, and Clinical Development teams to ensure strategic alignment.
* Stakeholder Engagement – Build strong relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and external partners to enhance scientific exchange.
* Product Launches – Provide medical leadership for multiple upcoming product launches, ensuring seamless execution.
* Compliance & Ethics – Uphold the highest standards of medical integrity, adhering to all relevant regulations and industry codes.
Qualifications & Experience
Required:
* Advanced degree in Natural Sciences (PhD, MSc, MD).
* Extensive experience in Medical Affairs, preferably within oncology and/or hematology.
* Proven track record in people management and leading medical teams.
* Strong strategic planning capabilities, with experience in developing and executing medical plans.
* Fluency in Dutch, French, and English, both written and verbal.
Preferred:
* Deep understanding of drug commercialization and business practices.
* Experience in budgeting and resource planning.
* Strong project leadership experience, including mentoring and coaching.
* Expertise in scientific research, data interpretation, and publication review.
* International exposure or a strong external medical network beyond the local affiliate.
* Comprehensive knowledge of the local healthcare system and market dynamics.
* Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance standards.
* Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
* Strategic mindset with strong decision-making capabilities.
* Proactive and solution-oriented approach.
* Ability to drive cross-functional collaboration.
* Willingness to travel locally and internationally as required.
