About the role
We are looking for a motivated Functional Analyst - Security with a passion for new technologies and a strong focus on application security. You will be part of a dynamic team dedicated to tackling security challenges in the solutions we develop for our clients. In this role, you will collaborate closely with developers, architects, and cybersecurity experts to ensure security is Embedded throughout the entire application lifecycle.
Key responsibilities
As a Functional Analyst - Security, you will
Conduct functional analysis of business needs, with a strong emphasis on security requirements at every stage of application development
Draft functional and technical specifications for the implementation of application security measures
Contribute to defining and implementing the Security Development Lifecycle (Sdl) based on NIST best practices
Work alongside development teams to integrate security controls throughout the application lifecycle
Ensure compliance with security standards and relevant regulations
Stay up to date with emerging vulnerabilities, security methodologies, and threat intelligence
Raise awareness among internal teams about cybersecurity best practices and risks
Assist in organizing and conducting application security testing
Monitor threats related to software vulnerabilities and identify new risks
Analyze vulnerability reports from both external sources (e.g., vulnerability databases) and internal assessments
Your profile
To be successful in this role, you should have
A degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
Solid experience in functional analysis and writing technical specifications
A strong technical background and a keen interest in information system security
A deep understanding of software development processes (e.g., Agile, DevOps)
Familiarity with security best practices (e.g., NIST, OWASP, ASVS)
The ability to analyze and interpret complex technical issues
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to simplify technical concepts for different audiences
Experience working in multidisciplinary teams (developers, architects, security experts)
Knowledge of Software Bill of Materials (Sbom) tools (e.g., Cyclonedx, Spdx)
Experience with security vulnerability analysis tools (e.g., Dependency-Track)
Understanding of CVSS scoring system and EPSS for assessing vulnerabilities
Proficiency with application lifecycle management tools (e.g., Jira, Jenkins, GIT)
A basic understanding of cryptography, authentication, and access control
Familiarity with security frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, ASVS)
Experience with secure software architectures and threat modeling techniques
Hands-on experience with vulnerability analysis tools (e.g., SAST, DAST)
Language skills
Fluency in one of the two national languages (French/Dutch) and a strong understanding of the other
Excellent English writing skills
