Job overview
The Pre-Sales Engineer is a client-focused financial services industry professional working closely with sales, internal service delivery and pricing teams in finance. The primary objective of this role is to provide pre-sales support with customer centric service solution design and integration due diligence to ensure services can be delivered to defined scope and that they are costed correctly. Solutions range from product related technical field services to high value add integrated managed services. Enabled by the Service Catalogue from the Service product management organization, function as the services subject matter expert (SME) on all service-related topics and to promote the consumption and adoption of the DN service portfolio.
This role requires insight and understanding of customer business challenges, customer & sales strategy, technical capabilities of the portfolio and the value delivered as the outcome. Key to the role is to integrate the service value propositions into the operational environment of the clients in a pre-sale’s capacity. This includes requirement analysis, scope validation, work breakdown structure, solution documentation, cost development, RAID-log documentation, and solution sign-off as input to the proposal and commercial processes managed by the sales teams.
Responsibilities
* Provides Pre-Sales Engineering support to assigned sales opportunities, with service solution scope ranging anywhere from simple to complex.
* Act as the Services SME for all Product Related Service topics supporting sales in the pre-sales stage of the sales lifecycle and where required direct engagement with the end customer.
* Responsible for the end-to-end solution design work from engagement to sign-off
* Highly skilled at analysing client requirements and working in collaboration with delivery teams (local and global), peer architects and engineers to develop service solutions.
* Leverages persuasive sales methodologies to manage customer conversations and help drive deals to close.
* Provides services portfolio centric support, onsite or remote, for industry events.
* Contributes to the development of improved service solution design practices and input to the portfolio managers of the service portfolio.
Qualifications
Required skills & experience
* Experience in pre-sales or equivalent combination of education and experience in a technical pre-sale’ capacity with proven strong performance.
* Experience working in an ATM Service environment, with a strong technical understanding of device maintenance requirements, across multiple manufacturers.
* Experienced in relation to technical maintenance and/or related services.
* ATM channel business operations experience
* Strong understanding of leveraging IT and technology to generate positive business outcomes by data driven service models.
* Advanced Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills
* Experienced in working with cost models and to develop and deliver cost sheet P&L input.
* Understanding of Service Level Agreements & Key Performance Indexes
* Management of documenting solutions and creating required solution artifacts.
* People leadership, be able to coach diverse teams and drive service-related discussions to secure required outcomes to meet objectives and timelines.
Preferred candidate attributes
* Experience with or certified in ITIL principles.
* Ability to perform stakeholder management at varying levels within the business.
* Project management skills
* Proven strong collaboration skills with a multitude of technical areas and cross functional teams in a matrix organization.
* Process, quality and tools centric work model experience (example: TOGAF, LEAN, SIX SIGMA).
