ERM, the largest global pure play sustainability consultancy, is looking for an HSE Engineer to join our reputable team in The Netherlands and work in close contact with one of our clients. As a Senior Technical Safety Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) across ERM's client's FPSO and SPM projects.
About the role:
You will be entrusted with the responsibility of overseeing, planning, executing, and coordinating all HSE activities throughout various project phases. Drawing upon your extensive expertise in (inter)national Safety Codes and best practices, you will provide invaluable guidance to our operating assets, offering clear and practical advice to facilitate the development and implementation of crucial elements such as Process Safety and Functional Safety.
Your role will encompass a diverse array of tasks, including:
1. involvement in incident investigations, conducting HSEQ audits, and providing on-site support, whether it be offshore, at construction yards, or with our clients, both domestically and internationally.
2. Your keen eye for detail and comprehensive understanding of HSE protocols will be instrumental in maintaining the safety integrity of our projects and operations.
3. In addition to your hands-on involvement in HSE activities, you will also serve as a knowledge hub within the organization, ensuring that all relevant stakeholders are kept abreast of the latest developments, procedures, and best practices. You will be tasked with the meticulous upkeep of corporate standards, while also spearheading initiatives to propose and implement improvements related to HSE practices at both corporate and sectional levels.
Reporting directly to the ERM Project Manager and the client's Head of HSE, you will operate within a matrix organization, providing crucial support to Project Managers and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to achieve our overarching safety objectives. Your role will be instrumental in fostering a culture of safety excellence and driving continuous improvement initiatives throughout the organization.

4. you have a relevant Bachelor’s degree with extended years of experience in the oil and gas (or related) industry
5. you have knowledge of relevant HSE tools (e.g. Synergi, Phast)
6. you preferably have both HSE in Design and Construction HSE experience
7. you solve complex issues for which helicopter view, in-depth expertise and analytical skills are necessary
8. English fluency, Dutch is a plus
9. Experience in auditing and understanding and knowledge of Dutch HSE legislation is a plus
10. you solve bottlenecks, change approach if things are not working, you keep an eye on the balance between quality, costs and benefits and you act responsibly
11. experience in auditing and understanding and knowledge of UK HSE legislation is a plus
