The Director – Advanced Analytics would be required to develop and lead in delivering value across multiple functions including Distribution, Underwriting, Pricing, Health, In-Force Management, and Claims using analytical tools and techniques. The candidate chosen for this role will work independently as well as direct a team of data scientists and ML engineers in identifying and qualifying ML/AI opportunities, architecting value-creating models, and building and deploying ML/AI solutions.
The candidate would also be expected to work closely with relevant teams in developing growth strategies as well as customer proposition development using data. The ideal candidate would have the right mix of technical and commercial mindset in solving complex business problems and finding opportunities where the advanced analytics team can contribute to fulfilling business objectives.
The role would report to AVP – Advanced Analytics and would work with teams locally and in the regional office.

We are looking for someone with:
* Bachelor’s degree in engineering, statistics, math, economics, or business (master’s degree would be an asset).
* 12+ years of increasing experience in data science and advanced analytics that directly align with the responsibilities of this position.
* Deep expertise in machine learning, data visualization, data analytics, and some experience with AI, especially Gen AI development.
* Hands-on expertise in advanced analytical solution development using Python, SQL, SAS, etc., knowledge of BI tools like Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, etc.
* Knowledge of cloud service providers like AWS, MS Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, along with data platforms like Databricks or Snowflake.
* Proven track record of implementing data science solutions at a large organization, collaborating across a matrix organization to achieve buy-in.
* A demonstrated track record of consistently meeting and/or exceeding performance expectations.
* Excellent problem-solving, strategic thinking, and analytical skills.
* Highly collaborative working style with the ability to build strong working relationships and influence.
* Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask and manage priorities.
* Easily resolve complex issues by taking a proactive approach to analyze problems and generate solutions.

* Lead the development and implementation of ML/AI solutions that drive significant value for the business.
* Champion the use of data and analytics across the organization, educating key stakeholders on the value of analytics.
* Work closely with growth marketing in campaign development and execution, suggesting areas of growth both from existing customers and acquiring new customers.
* Develop propositions along with the marketing and distribution teams that are relevant and personalized for our customers.
* Identify opportunities to leverage ML/AI. Advise senior management and key stakeholders, ensuring all parties understand outcomes, capabilities, risks, and limitations. Develop and recommend mitigation plans.
* Provide key insights and intelligence to stakeholders. Develop, prioritize, and “sell” recommendations to key decision makers.
* Develop and oversee effective AI solution delivery, including project delivery, Machine Learning operations, and adherence to Model Risk and Governance. Build project teams and serve as senior-level management contact for issues.
* Ensure project objectives are set, deliverables are clear, and execution is of high quality.
* Be part of the technical design discussions on analytics projects. Ensure technical requirements are translated and understood by key stakeholders.
