To strengthen our Information Technology team, based in Braine-l’Alleud, Belgium Belgium, we are looking for a talented individual to fill the position of: GDC Technology Lead Early Solutions .
About the role:
Prepare the future for UCB Research & Development department infrastructure, called Early Solution, by collaborating with solutions leaders and stakeholders to craft comprehensive tactics and seamlessly implement cutting-edge technological solutions.

Participate for the design of fit-for-purpose research IT infrastructure architectures.
Maintain vigilant oversight of technology, ensuring it remains under control while staying abreast of the latest developments to communicate with stakeholders and contribute to well-informed decision-making processes effectively.
Strive to deliver unparalleled, innovative solutions, setting a benchmark for excellence in the field.
Participate in financial decisions related to hardware, licenses, and technologies, demonstrating a keen understanding of budgetary considerations and cost-effective solutions.
Establish effective interfaces with internal and external service providers, fostering strong partnerships to enhance operations' overall efficiency and effectiveness.
What you’ll do:
1. Provide strategic guidance for the research IT landscape, from vision to tactical solutions.
2. Act as a visionary and strategist, offering insights for long-term solutions.
3. Develop tactics for enhancing IT infrastructure and evolving technology portfolios.
4. Establish rules, principles, and guidelines for technology solution development.
5. Research market landscape for insights, vendors, and emerging methods.
6. Serve as a technical expert liaison across teams, stakeholders, and partners.
Interested? For this position you’ll need the following education, experience, and skills:
7. Relevant knowledge in IT software used in research such as IBM Spectrum LSF, RedHat Linux, Azure, and Kubernetes are desired.
8. ITIL, Project Management, or certifications in platform technologies (HPE, Netapp, Nvidia) are advantageous.
9. Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or IT scientific fields.
10. Deep understanding of datacenter, HPC, and storage system architecture.
11. Extensive experience in managing large multi-site infrastructures within pharmaceutical or research sectors.
12. Deep knowledge of network security principles and protocols, with experience interfacing with external suppliers and managing budgets for infrastructure maintenance and enhancements.
