Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Chemical Process Engineer to join our dynamic team in Sint-Niklaas. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, optimizing, and maintaining chemical processes to ensure operational efficiency, safety, and product quality. This role requires a strong background in chemical engineering principles, process improvement, and project management.
Key Responsibilities
Process Design and Optimization:
* Develop and design new chemical processes to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
* Analyze existing processes and identify areas for improvement.
* Develop process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
Safety and Compliance:
* Ensure that all processes comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
* Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
* Collaborate with the Health & Safety team to ensure a safe working environment.
Project Management:
* Lead and support engineering projects from concept to implementation.
* Prepare and manage project budgets, timelines, and resources.
* Coordinate with cross-functional teams to deliver projects on schedule.
Process Monitoring and Troubleshooting:
* Monitor plant performance and identify operational issues.
* Develop and implement corrective actions to resolve process deviations.
* Use data analysis tools to track and improve process efficiency.
Required Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
* Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in chemical process engineering or a related industry.
* Strong knowledge of chemical engineering principles, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics.
* Experience with process simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, CHEMCAD).
* Familiarity with regulatory standards (e.g., REACH, OSHA).
* Strong communication skills in Dutch and English
