Job Overview
TE Connectivity's Environmental Health & Safety Teams ensure and monitor safety in the workplace. This includes the application and communication of health, safety and hazardous material standards, procedures and practices consistent with TE, environmental and government regulations.
Responsibilities:
The Prevention Advisor will be responsible for all safety related elements for the site in Oostkamp. This includes the elaboration, programming, implementation and evaluation of the safety policy determined by the dynamic risk management system.
1. Cooperating to identify the risks, give advice about the results and propose measures for the risk analysis from the wellbeing aspects and the yearly action plan/global prevention plan
2. Investigating first aids, near hits, incidents and accidents
3. Cooperating in the investigation of physical and psychological risks
4. Preparing commissioning reports, risk analyses and safety instruction cards
5. Organizing internal safety training and evacuation exercises
6. Making sure the Machine Commissioning Process runs smoothly and ensures that all standards and procedures are followed
7. Making proposals for the reception, guidance, information, training and awareness raising of employees
8. Being at the disposal of the employer, leadership and employees for any questions about well being
9. Giving your input in the design of new installations from a safety point of view
10. Being actively present on the floor to coach people and identify risks
11. Being creative and proactive in working out safety improvements
12. Coordinating all necessary requirements ensuring external and internal inspections
13. Monitoring the safety aspect in the execution of technical projects
14. You follow up the procedures; preparing, completing or approving documents in the context of the selection, purchase, use and maintenance of work equipment and personal protective equipment
What your background should look like:
15. 5+ years experience in a manufacturing environment, and ideally with the same order of magnitude
16. 3+ years of experience in a position as Prevention Advisor with comparable tasks in the field of EHS
17. Experience with Machine Commissioning Processes. A certificate as Certified Machinery Safety Expert (CMSE) is considered a plus.
18. Knowledge in environmental and occupational safety management as well as internal auditor (ISO 14001/ISO45001). Skills as an auditor is a plus.
19. Profound knowledge in the fields of occupational health and safety/environmental management, machine safety, hazardous substances, and emergency management.
20. Experience with Change management.
21. Having excellent communication skills on all levels, including blue collars, white collars and engineers.
