As a Senior Storage Engineer, you will be involved in all aspects of managing and setting up storage environments. You will handle complex performance analysis/troubleshooting and contribute to enhancing/automating processes and services. You will also provide advice and coach other members of the international team.
* You will join an international team in which you help to build and manage our own cloud storage environments and dedicated customer environments.
* Together with other senior engineers, you will decide on the standards and best practices for the environments.
* You will be the go-to person and product owner for one or more technologies.
* You are the Single Point of Contact for incidents, changes, and escalations.
* You will create and maintain technical procedures, manuals, and processes.
* You will be responsible for handling a project on your own or assisting on one.
* You will participate in standby availability schedules (rotation about every 8 weeks) and planned maintenance windows.
* You will also participate in a third-line operational role with other senior colleagues (rotation about every 7 weeks).
* You are interested in automation and want to participate in automation-related tasks.
* You will share your knowledge with other team members and get involved in coaching and follow-up sessions.
What you need to succeed:
* You have at least 6 years of experience in a similar position.
* You have hands-on experience with operating, managing, and implementing enterprise storage systems.
* You have extensive experience with Brocade SAN technology and its concepts.
* You have experience with at least one of the following storage technologies: HPE Primera/Alletra technologies, IBM Flashsystems, Netapp All Flash/Hybrid Flash series, Dell ECS.
* You have good knowledge of Linux operating systems.
* Having experience with bash/python/ansible is considered a plus, as well as with Dell PowerMax.
* You have high analytical thinking capability to investigate and solve complex issues autonomously.
* You would like to work in a collaborative environment and have a strong team spirit.
* You are able to adapt quickly to changing business priorities.
* You have a strong passion for IT and a strong interest in self-development.
* You show initiative.
* You are punctual and flexible.
* You speak and write fluently in English.
* You work from home in combination with our office in Hasselt.
