Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Head of Transport for an interim assignment to lead our transport operations in Belgium. In this role, you will be responsible for the operational management of our drivers and transport providers, ensuring the effective management of transport resources, and maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Team Management: Lead, mentor, and coach a team of drivers, ensuring adherence to procedures and fostering a positive working environment.
2. Transport Resource Management: Oversee the maintenance, administration, and efficient utilization of our fleet.
3. Process Optimization: Identify areas for improvement in transport and fleet management, and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and safety.
4. Safety and Compliance: Ensure adherence to safety regulations and legal requirements related to transport and the environment.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Bachelor's degree, preferably in Logistics, Transport, or Supply Chain Management.
2. Minimum 5 years of experience in a leadership role within transport or fleet management.
3. Strong knowledge of logistics processes and relevant legal regulations.
4. Experience with digital fleet management systems.
5. Proficiency in MS Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook).
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
7. Fluent in Dutch (C2 level), very good in English (C1 level), and good to very good in French (B2-C1 level) is a plus.
8. Organizational awareness and collaboration.
