Job purpose:
The Vaccines Distribution Operations Director will oversee and manage all aspects of the warehousing, inventory, and distribution operations for the Global Distribution Center in Belgium and the Vaccines Regional Distribution Centers, including relationship with Third Party Logistics (3PL) company operating service.
You will lead a team of logistics and warehousing professionals, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and collaborate with other Operations and Supply Chain departments to ensure warehouse operations deliver in line with the overall goals of the company; increased operating leverage and reduced lead times.
The role is critical in ensuring that our products are efficiently and effectively distributed to meet Patient demand while ensuring safe and efficient operations, delivering compliance with regulatory requirements and GSK standards as defined by GSK Quality Management System.
Your responsibilities:
Leadership & People Management
1. Foster a culture of trust, collaboration, and empowerment within teams.
2. Address employee concerns and promote an inclusive work environment.
3. Collaborate with labor unions and internal stakeholders for positive industrial relations.
4. Lead and develop the logistics operations team Yusen Logistic Distribution Center (YLDC) and be accountable for the logistics operational oversight of YLDC; ensuring talent development and retention.
5. Act as dotted line manager to the Regional Distribution Center operational staff (located in Singapore, North America, Uruguay and Panama), ensuring process standardization and best practices.
6. Promote safety, quality, and continuous improvement in logistics and warehouse teams.
7. Lead GSK Production System (GPS) Lean cultural adoption through use of tools such as Standard Work, Gemba, Process Confirmation, Problem Solving and Value Stream Mapping to remove waste, address Root Cause of issues and promote continuous improvement.
Strategic Leadership
1. Develop and execute logistics strategies to support operational efficiency and business growth, collaborating with Supply Chain, Production, Quality, and Procurement teams.
2. Drive adoption of new technologies and automation to streamline processes.
Operational Management and Efficiency
1. Accountable for the daily operating Performance, ensuring timely order fulfilment, and efficient distribution while sustaining vaccine preparation, compliance, scheduling, security; GxP and warehousing expertise.
2. Oversee inventory control for accurate stock levels.
3. Share and integrate best practices within the GSK distribution network; ‘raise the bar’ by performing external benchmarking on Industry standard and excellence.
4. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
5. Utilize data analytics to monitor key performance indicators (Balanced Scorecards) and drive data-driven decision-making.
Safety and Compliance
1. Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and GSK requirements to maintain License to Operate (LtO).
2. Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions to maintain a safe working environment in partnership with 3PL.
3. Ensure continual regulatory inspection readiness and act as GSK spokesperson during inspections.
4. Manage risks related to logistics, warehousing, transportation, and inventory.
Third-Party Management
1. Build strong partnerships with third-party suppliers, ensuring alignment with objectives and compliance.
2. Monitor performance, driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.
3. Maintain and improve Balanced Scorecard; clear KPIs and governance frameworks to ensure accountability and service quality.
4. Act as key liaison, resolving challenges and fostering collaboration.
Budget and Financial Management
1. Develop and manage the logistics budget, ensuring cost control and efficiency.
2. Track financial performance, identifying cost-saving opportunities and process improvements.

Why You?
Basic Qualifications:
We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
1. Bachelor degree in areas such as Supply Chain / Logistics / Distribution, International trade, Security in Air and Sea freight (or such relevant operational experience)
2. Minimum 5 years of experience in logistics, warehousing, and distribution, with at least 5 years in leadership roles
3. Experience of leading large distribution centers operations
4. Minimum 3 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry
5. Experience in managing large-scale operations and leading cross-functional teams
6. Extensive knowledge of logistics and warehouse management systems, as well as industry best practices
7. Experience in GxP regulated environment, cold chain and distribution
8. Fluency in English – written and spoken
9. Fluency in French is an absolute must for this role – written and spoken.
