Summary:
The Avionics Systems Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the ongoing airworthiness and reliability of Air Belgium's avionics systems. This position requires strong analytical skills, excellent organisational abilities, and a deep understanding of aircraft maintenance techniques.
Main Tasks:
1. Support to Technical Management
* Assist Technical Management in meeting Continuing Airworthiness requirements, focusing on avionics systems.
2. Airworthiness Data Analysis
* Analyse incoming airworthiness data, including ADs, SBs, SLs, SIBs, and other technical documentation, to assess relevance and applicability to Air Belgium's operations.
* Evaluate the applicability and compliance of aircraft ADs, prepare related engineering orders, task cards, and materials.
3. Avionics System Modifications
* Investigate potential avionics systems modifications, propose solutions, and handle all related documentation and tasks (engineering orders, task cards, materials).
* Maintain up-to-date records of avionics modifications and ensure compliance with STCs.
4. Technical Investigations
* Conduct technical investigations following occurrence reports related to avionics defects or maintenance issues.
5. Avionics Introduction and Re-Delivery
* Prepare avionics introduction files in accordance with BCAA requirements.
* Compile re-delivery documentation for avionics systems, ensuring compliance with lease agreements.
6. Avionics Reliability Monitoring
* Monitor and analyse trends related to avionics reliability and performance, providing monthly reports.
* Identify, analyse, and implement corrective actions for any issues found through the reliability process.
7. Avionics-Specific Management
* Manage embarked software (FLS/LSAP) status and upgrades.
* Oversee aircraft data communications setup, including FDM data feed.
* Maintain Field Loadable Software cards.
* Monitor operational approvals such as RVSM, LVO, ETOPS, and more.
8. Shop Visits and Representation
* Engage with aircraft MROs during maintenance and repairs, ensuring quality control and compliance with avionics standards.
* Represent Air Belgium during avionics maintenance checks and shop visits when required.
Qualifications:
* You should hold a Master's degree in Engineering (preferably Aeronautical, Electromechanical, or equivalent).
* At least 1 year of experience in an aviation/aeronautical environment (CAMO experience is a plus).
* Strong understanding of aircraft maintenance techniques (Airbus/Boeing experience is advantageous).
* Fluent in English (French/Dutch is a plus).
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesise complex technical information.
* Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail with the ability to prioritise tasks.
* Proficiency in MS Office and aviation maintenance software.
