It consists of over 70 bodies from European countries responsible for public health and health promotion in Europe. About the positionEuroHealthNet's activities take place across three complementary Platforms covering Policy, Practice, and Research. We are seeking a medical doctor to join our team as a Project Officer, a role that brings unique value to our organisation and its work. While our office is currently composed of public health and policy professionals, having a medical doctor among our staff will enrich our expertise and build stronger bridges with other organisations, medical associations, public health institutes, and policymakers. This aligns with the needs of our members, many of whom are medical professionals, and enhances our capacity to collaborate effectively with them. Furthermore, a medical background will provide a new perspective on our projects, particularly those that address vaccination, social prescribing, nature-based therapies, and upskilling the health workforce.Under the guidance and supervision of senior staff from EuroHealthNet, the Project Officer will contribute to the following activities:RIVER-EU (2021-2026) RIVER-EU's (¿Reducing Inequalities in Vaccine uptake in the European Region - Engaging Underserved communities¿) main goal is to collect evidence on health system determinants of high and low vaccine uptake in eight specific contexts, which are used to identify and/or develop interventions to reduce barriers to vaccine uptake in underserved communities and increase trust in the health system. SP-EU (2025-2029)The overall objective of SP-EU is to assess the potential of Social Prescribing (SP) to promote and improve access to health and care services for people in vulnerable situations, focusing on three primary target groups: LGBTIQ persons, refugees and first-generation immigrants and older adults living alone.EuroHealthNet leads the policy exploitation work packages and is also responsible for helping build networks, e.G., with associations of general practitioners.RESONATE (2023-2027)Resonate investigates the impact of nature-based therapy (NbT) on health, environment, society, and the economy. By studying existing practices and implementing new ones, it aims to create practical tools and to increase the use of NbT in healthcare across Europe.BeWell (2022-2026)BeWell aims to support the upskilling and reskilling of Europe's health and care workforce for a digital and sustainable future. The initiative builds comprehensive curricula and training programmes targeting all professionals of the health workforce, including health students, health professionals and professionals of emerging occupations.EuroHealthNet is helping shape the blueprint skills strategy for green and digital skills by developing an evaluative 'Theory of Change' framework, which underpins the importance of health promotion, public health, and equity. Responsibility - The successful candidate will:· Support day-to-day management of RIVER-EU, SP-EU, RESONATE, and BeWell projects and ensure timely delivery of milestones and high-quality outputs.· Support liaisons with both health professionals and representatives of underserved communities targeted by project interventions and activities.· Conduct interviews with general practitioners (GPs) and healthcare providers, gathering insights on innovative practices such as nature-based therapies, social prescribing, and equitable vaccination.· Monitor relevant EU and national policy processes and best practices, as well as identify opportunities which can help maximise the impact of EuroHealthNet's project and platform activities.· Monitor EU funding opportunities for the Partnership, including opportunities under the EU4Health programmes.Jouw profiel- Medical Doctor (MD) with at least 1 year of experience as a general practitioner, ideally in underserved areas or low-resource settings.- Education at a Master level in a relevant field such as public health, health promotion, or other health-related fields. - Demonstrated experience in vaccination programmes, including working in vaccination centres with diverse populations.- 1+ years of experience in an NGO environment, particularly with EU-funded health projects and as well as a general understanding of EU policies in the field of health promotion, prevention of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) and vaccination.- Advanced proficiency in English (C1 level or higher); additional European languages and non-European languages (e.G., languages spoken by underserved communities) are a plus.- Proven research experience on health equity and underserved communities is highly desirable.- Proven ability to interact with healthcare providers, patients, and policymakers to promote community-driven health solutions.- Experience writing academic papers, blog articles, social media posts, and other content (in English). - Proven ability to think strategically, excellent organisational skills with the ability to set priorities, very good interpersonal skills and sense of teamwork, while also being able to work autonomously with minimal supervision. - Proficient use of the Microsoft Office suite. It is an offer for a full-time position of 38 hours per week with a fixed-term contract of one year. There is a possibility of obtaining an extension or a permanent contract afterwards.For this position, the annual gross salary ranges between €36.500 and €38.500 depending on experience and qualifications, and will also include benefits such as meal vouchers, financial support towards the use of public transport to work, and hospital insurance.All applicants must be qualified, eligible, and able to work in Belgium. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide financial assistance to relocate to Brussels or Belgium.The post will combine in-office and remote work, as well as occasional travel within Europe - depending on health security regulations.
