OverviewThe Cell Core Facility is embedded in the VIB Center for Inflammation Research (IRC) located at Tech Lane Ghent Science Park. It is our mission to ensure that every IRC scientist is able to perform high standard research with cells and tissues of animal and human origin, both in BL1 and BL2 conditions. We provide this via a suite of instruments, high manufacturing standards of cell culture media, sterility testing and training in aseptic techniques and biosafety. We also offer advice and help with issues related to contamination and biosafety risk assessments. The Core is responsible for the operational support (processing, storage, etc.) to safeguard the cell culture collection that has been built up over the last 40 years. To support the team, we are looking for a laboratory technician with a heart for service. This person will provide administrative and operational support essential for smooth functioning.
