The Investment Risk and Suitability Specialist role involves providing oversight and assurance to management that processes and controls defined for the delivery of our investment services and portfolio management activities have been complied with. You will help define and maintain a robust Investment Risk and Suitability framework and perform regular controls, reviews, and reporting.
Your key responsibilities include:
Main Responsibilities:
* Performing investment risk and suitability related 1st line of defense checks and controls to ensure client-facing staff conduct their sales, discretionary, and advisory related activities in accordance with established processes and regulatory requirements.
* Daily monitoring such as approved products, risk budgets, etc.
* Proposing remediation activities to address non-compliance situations and ensuring remediation activities are carried out and closed in a timely manner by the business.
* Providing regular reporting to management and relevant oversight functions on operating effectiveness of established processes and controls.
* Rollouting, training, and advising business units on applicable processes and controls. This includes conducting regular refresher training for staff to ensure risk and control awareness is high.
* Follwing up and ensuring that agreed remediation actions (including audit recommendations and self-assessment action points) are adequate and completed within agreed deadlines.
* Contributing to the evolution and continuous relevance of the activities and reporting made by the Investment Risk and Suitability team by proactively identifying new needs stemming from regulatory or business-related developments.
* Using knowledge and understanding of the LOESA book of business to support IS related or LOESA projects and ad-hoc requests requiring IRS expertise.
Your profile should include:

* Masters and/or Bachelors in finance/economics
* At least 5 years of relevant experience in portfolio management, risk management, and suitability in private banking
* Comprehensive knowledge of applicable regulations (European and national jurisdiction in LOESA's scope) and financial instruments
* Proven ability to manage, review, and monitor regulatory-related and business projects independently
* Analytical skills, detailed focus
* Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with various stakeholders
* Independent as well as team player
* Strong MS Excel skills with programming skills an advantage
* English oral and written capabilities
