Responsibilities
The position involves, in equal parts, teaching and research duties, as well as some service activities. The teaching load (in courses related to economics, management, and quantitative methods) is carried out within the bachelor's and master's programs. The Department of Economics co-organizes with the Economics School of Louvain (ESL-UCLouvain) the graduate and postgraduate day programs in economics. Research (approximately 50% of the work time associated with the position) will be undertaken preferably in macroeconomics, even if other research fields are possible, within the Development, Finance and Public Policies (DeFiPP) Research Institute.
Profile
Requirements
Applicants must hold a Master's degree in economics (or equivalent), or plan to obtain it before the end of September 2025. They must have excelled during their studies (degree obtained with honors in particular). The applicant must have a very good knowledge of English and French, both spoken and written. They must have good teaching skills and the desire to pass on their knowledge to a student audience. The applicant must also be willing and able to develop an original research program leading to a PhD in economics under the supervision of a member of the Economics Department. Ideally, the applicant should be ready to begin employment on the planned starting date.
