Universal Music Belgium is looking for a Promotion & Event Manager to join the marketing team. You will create fresh and stand-out campaigns for French, international & domestic artists, and their releases. You will promote the French repertoire from our partner labels in France with a rich catalogue going from Calogero, Kendji Girac, Louane, Thomas Dutronc to SDM, Soolking, Ziak, Vacra, Franglish, Jungeli, Kungs & Zaho de Sagazan.
As a Promotion & Event Manager, you hold a pivotal position within the marketing department, working with several promotion managers & project managers. You are responsible for promotion in Wallonia of our French, local & international repertoire within the Universal Music Group. You will coordinate events such as signings sessions, promotion days, pop-up stores, listening sessions or other events that require a high production value for local, French & international artists.
You will report to the Marketing & Sales Director, who determines the priorities and strategy of the department.
Key Responsibilities :
- Generating airplay on radio is your #1 priority
- Generating free publicity via online content, written press, tv performances, (tv) interviews
- You work on a diverse roster of projects and artists
- You’re a talented storyteller and know how to sell a project
- You look for new and original ways to promote our artists
- You achieve the targets defined in collaboration with the project managers and the marketing & sales director
- You respond appropriately to any media enquiries and write to-the-point press releases tailored to the targeted media
- You develop and monitor the guidelines per artist in all promo communications
- You coordinate domestic, French & international artists on promotion days and ensure that such a visit goes flawlessly
- You assist to concerts and festivals to coordinate the promotion
- You are responsible for the planning, organisation & execution of our events
- You make sure people, both internally & externally, are briefed accordingly
- You are looking for perfection and are determined to deliver a high-end production value for our events
In addition, you fit the following description :
- You are a strategic thinker who can prioritize between primary issues from secondary
- Preferably you have experience in artist promotion & event production
- You have the necessary project management skills and know how to work efficiently
- You are a master at handling pressure and deadlines
- You have a passion for music, radio & (social) media
- You have a very social personality and other people give you energy
- Traditional and new media channels don’t have any secrets for you
- You have a positive mindset and you are determined
- You are willing to constantly improve your knowledge to keep up with the latest developments in society and the music industry in particular
- You are fluent and creative in writing, good with research, you are a born team player
- You have a network in the business and you easily make new contacts
- You don’t have a 9 to 5 mentality
- Preferably you have a bachelor in marketing, public relations or communication
- You have strong writing skills in French and have a good language level in English & Dutch
