About the position
Engineering excellence at AXA Belgium is a transversal team that contributes to the software delivery of the product teams by taking a lead in the technology evolution, standardization of engineering solutions and animation of the software engineering communities.
As a Lead Technical Engineer – focus SDLC practice, you watch over the development practice in the delivery teams. You work on research and introduction of practices that target the areas of improvement. You apply a holistic approach, meaning you get to work on stakeholder management, processes & tooling, technological evolutions and reporting amongst others. You furthermore align with other technology experts and architecture to continuously increase the maturity of the technological foundation for the IT department.
The team consist of experts in the inhouse supported technologies (.NET, Angular, Cobol, Java, Python, Stencil), with whom you will work closely to define the work order and approach.
Core job description
1. Level the software engineering practices in the delivery teams with industry standards
2. Act as an ambassador for the engineering excellence team and secure a feedback loop from/to the delivery teams
3. Evangelize the IT mission to achieve a sustainable (robust, secure, performant) application landscape
4. Set up and animate the community of technical leads to have a helicopter view of major developments in the company
5. Work closely with technical leads on solution design of high-value projects
6. Identify gaps in technologic maturity and search for learning opportunities
7. Write documentation on the target software engineering practices and drive adoption in delivery teams
8. Lead engineering transversal initiatives to strengthen the development processes, tools and deliverables
9. Serve as a reference for cloud integrations and patterns on Azure, AWS, AXA OpenPaas
Your Profile
Required technical skills
10. Verifiable expertise as a technical lead in a software delivery context
11. Successful experiences in solution analysis and conceptual thinking
12. Resourceful attitude with regards to the market evolution of coding practices, API security, SDLC validation and verification, SDLC governance
13. Experience with both greenfield and legacy development
14. Coding experience with backend and front-end languages and frameworks
15. Certification on containerization, cloud development and architecture
16. Knowledge and experience with E2E flows to setup and run applications in an enterprise environmen
Required communicative skills
17. Fluent (oral & written) in English
18. Fluent (oral & written) either Dutch or French

20. Clear and concise presentations, tailored to the audience (delivery teams to C-Level)
