To tackle these exciting challenges, Siemens Smart Infrastructure Grid Software is recruiting a SCADA & Control System IT Engineer.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Your solid technical background will enable you to participate in the design and integration of supervision and control systems for electrical transport and distribution networks, with a particular focus on IT and electrical aspects crucial for such applications.
2. You will analyze the IT specifications related to the Siemens Spectrum Power software solution and the needs of our clients, in order to implement appropriate technical solutions.
3. Your projects will encompass various disciplines: SCADA engineering with its advanced electrical functions, client data conversion (electrical or geographical), script or service development, network infrastructure, system administration, cybersecurity, etc.
4. During project execution, you will participate in the various phases of engineering within the study team: offer preparation, concept and design, functional analysis, software development, hardware configuration, integration of the Siemens Spectrum Power software solution, testing, and commissioning.
5. You will be technically capable of performing tests in the workshop or on-site with our clients, who are experts in their fields. You will also provide theoretical and practical training to our clients.
6. You will be active in both the Belgian market and the international market (primarily Francophone Africa).
Time Allocation:
1. Technical design of SCADA systems in the study office: 35%
2. Testing, commissioning, client interventions, in Belgium or abroad: 30%
3. IT support to the technical team and developments: 25%
4. Preparation of offers: 10%

External: Clients, project partners (subcontractors, consulting firms, end clients, etc.)
Internal: Internal clients, project team colleagues in Belgium and abroad, technicians, and hotline contacts at headquarters, management, etc.
Required Qualifications:
1. Master's degree in electrical engineering or computer science.
2. Knowledge of programming languages (Python, C++, C, Java, etc.) is required.
3. Professional experience or interest in the IT field is necessary.
4. Knowledge of Linux operating systems is required.
5. An interest and knowledge in database management and interfaces with various IT applications is an additional asset.
6. Knowledge of communication networks in the Energy Management domain (Ethernet TCP/IP, ModBus, IEC-60870-10x protocols, IEC 61850 protocol) is a plus.
7. Knowledge of the electricity transport or distribution sector is a plus.
8. You are flexible: travel abroad is expected.
9. Language skills required: French, English, and Dutch.
