LifeWatch ERIC seeks an experienced Chief Technology Officer to lead and coordinate the development of its technological infrastructure, ensuring it aligns with cutting-edge global standards and advances in Europe and beyond.
Location: LifeWatch ERIC Headquarters is in Seville, Spain. The role requires collaboration with the Common Facilities and Distributed Centres across Europe
Position:
* Full-time position, with an option to work four days per week.
* We offer a four-year term, with the potential for an additional four-year extension
Main Responsibilities:
As CTO, you will report to the CEO and, together with the CFO, serve as a member of the Executive Board, collaboration with Directors of the Common Facilities and Distributed Centres.
As CTO, you will play a key role in providing strategic direction for LifeWatch ERIC’s technology framework:
* Infrastructure Development and Implementation: Lead the coordination of LifeWatch ERIC’s expanding e-Science Infrastructure, integrating diverse new technologies.
* Technology Planning: Stay at the forefront of technology trends to identify innovations that could enhance LifeWatch ERIC’s infrastructure and processes.
* User-Centered Design: Prioritize user experience to ensure the infrastructure meets the needs of researchers and other stakeholders.
* Trusted Advisor: Establish LifeWatch ERIC as a trusted advisor within the scientific community and among policy-makers.
The ideal candidate should meet the following requirements
* A strong track record in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) areas,
* Fluency in English; Spanish proficiency is an advantage.
* At least five years of experience in technology leadership, with expertise in strategy, planning, implementation and operations.
* Deep knowledge of emerging technologies and their relevance to the EU scientific landscape
* Leadership skill: Ability to lead and motivate technical teams to achieve ambitious goals and timelines.
* Technological Insight: Capability to understand user requirements, tech trends, and societal influences.
* High-Performance Computing and Data Management: Experience with data-intensive computing and the ability to project technological developments within budget constraints.
* Technical Expertise: Proficiency in network technologies, optimization, database management, web standards, and data integration, including semantic data approaches.
* Security and Risk Management: Strong understanding of information security and risk management practices.
* Communication and Vision: A results-driven approach with the ability to inspire technical and non-technical audiences through clear communication.
