This vacancy concerns a job directly reporting to Head of Engineering.
Your Mission
As Radio Solutions Lead you lead the analysis, development and implementation of new 4G/5G Radio Features (including NB-IoT and LTE-M) delivered by the Nokia roadmap or you make evolve the existing ones, as well the interdependency with 2G and 3G, and this based on the Operators’ (Proximus and Orange Belgium) strategy and operational or regulatory requirements and with respect for the objectives, budget, resources and timing, You have the end-to-end responsibility for taking all the appropriate actions from the requirements to the move in Production, after validation in the Testbed (local Nokia LAB) and in the Pilot area.
As Radio Solutions Lead, you
1. Evaluate and make recommendations for the future, considering the technical evolutions on the market;
2. Analyze and assess technical solutions and evolution to fulfill Operators’ (Proximus and Orange Belgium) strategy, regulatory and operational (functional and capacity) requirements, considering cost, time to market;
3. Lead medium implementation projects and coordinate (and coach if necessary) a core team for the implementation of new 4G/5G Radio features (including NB-IoT and LTE-M);
4. Write functional and technical specifications ;
5. Generate methods & procedure and technical documents regarding new 4G/5G Radio features evaluated and/or tested;
6. Provide technical workshops (to be considered as hand over) to Optimization, Operation & Maintenance and In-building deployment teams;
7. Conduct the implementation of the technical solutions (in collaboration with IT, Optimization, Operation & Maintenance and In-building deployment teams);
8. Act as a technical interface within MWingz and with Operators (Proximus and Orange Belgium), suppliers, other operators, to gather requirements and technical solutions, challenge Operators’ (Proximus and Orange Belgium) strategy, and provide recommendations;
9. Evaluate the Nokia RAN roadmap to manage, prepare and implement new 4G/5G features and technologies.
10. Regularly report and communicate project progress from both operational and budgetary perspectives to inform the project team, line management, steerco and operators.
As Radio Solutions Lead, you have major interactions with
11. Operators (Proximus and Orange Belgium) and other internal clients to gather appropriate information for systems and services development;
12. Orange Labs & Networks to request validation of new 4G/5G features for MWingz;
13. The Purchasing team for supplier selection, contractual and commercial support;
14. IT, Optimization, Operation & Maintenance and In-building deployment teams to implement new 4G/5G features;
15. External : Suppliers (mainly Nokia), Operators (Proximus and Orange Belgium).
Your profile
Education:
You have an engineering degree in telecommunications with 5 to 7 years experience
Required expertise : you have an in depth knowledge of
16. Nokia RAN Vendor;
17. Validation, testing of Radio features to improve the performance (quality, capacity, coverage…);
18. Performing Tests in LAB environment with Radio drive test tool (as Nemo or TEMS); Analyse and post process the data via post processing tool;
19. Modifying and updating radio parameter setting via RAN OSS (Nokia NetAct) or local Element Manager;
20. Collecting and checking the RAN KPIs via NetAct and/or NAC (Nokia Performance Manager);
21. Collecting and checking the Call Traces via DCAP (Nokia Call Trace Tool).
