As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for one or more projects within the Purchase department of our client. This includes managing project delivery within the agreed scope, cost, timeline, and quality. Additionally, you will deliver the expected project management outputs on time and to the required standard. You will follow the organization's guidelines, processes, and procedures, and report to your Team Manager, among others.
You are expected to quickly familiarize yourself with new subject matter to provide value to internal business partners.
You will also contribute to the team's operations through knowledge sharing, knowledge retention, and activities to improve team performance.
Responsibilities
Ensure all project expectations are clear for business stakeholders (including the project sponsor), IT stakeholders, and external suppliers, and confirm these agreements are realistic and well-documented in the deliverables
Keep business and IT stakeholders aligned by providing regular status updates tailored to their needs
Manage the project team (including IT, business, and external suppliers)
Establish an efficient collaboration structure (e.g., daily stand-ups) and ensure seamless integration and cooperation among business stakeholders, IT stakeholders, and external software suppliers
Monitor the analysis, definition, development, and implementation of project outputs, taking necessary actions to ensure timely delivery
Track project costs, optimize cost efficiency, and ensure the project is delivered within the agreed budget
Monitor project scope delivery to prevent scope creep
Manage any changes to the project baseline (cost, time, and scope) in a structured way
Ensure the project outputs meet the desired quality standards
Act as an ambassador for the project by promoting it effectively
Expected outputs
Review project management deliverables provided during project initiation (such as scope, cost estimates, planning, risk management, team composition) and adjust as needed
Maintain a high-quality, up-to-date, validated project document in the standard format, archived internally
Create a list of project deliverables using a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)
Develop a detailed, updated project plan with identified dependencies and milestones
Provide a project status report in the standard format, archived according to guidelines
Maintain short-, medium-, and long-term resource demand documentation in the standard Excel format
Create and oversee the execution of a communication plan
Prepare a project closure document at the project's end
Skills and desired background
Demonstrated experience managing projects within the triple constraint framework (Time, Scope, Cost, and Quality)
Experience developing project governance and validation paths in large organizations (involving multiple business units)
Experience with IT project packages exceeding 1,000 person-days
Proven ability to creatively solve significant project issues and effectively communicate solutions at all levels, including executive level
Familiarity with Waterfall project methodology
Experience managing projects with significant impacts across multiple business units, divisions, departments, or locations
Proficient in English and Dutch
