Internship Position
We are seeking an intern to join our Operations Team (OPS) Team in our Services Department (comprises of 30 persons). The successful candidate will primarily support the operations preparation and operations execution of the ICE Cubes Facility, and its Media Set on the ISS as well as the ground segment maintenance.
The candidate will mainly report to the Operations Team Lead.
* Location: Sint-Stevens-Woluwe (Brussels Area)
* Duration: Preferably 6 months
* Start date: At the earliest
Tasks and Responsibilities
* Become familiar with the mission objectives and the design of the mission experiments
* Assist with the preparation and validation of ICE Cubes experiments through:
o Monitoring ongoing development activities
o Organising mission dry runs or simulations, including engagement with the science teams
o Providing first-line support to customers
o Validating operational products
* Support on-console operations
* Attend regular meetings with mission stakeholders.
Skills and Experience
* Currently enrolled in a Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, Sciences, or Computer Science
* Comfortable working in a Linux/Ubuntu environment
* Strong self-discipline and a solid work ethic
* Creative, autonomous, and meticulous mindset
* Experience in producing documentation and/or writing procedures in English
* Excellent communication skills in English, both spoken and written
* Versatile, resilient under pressure, and displays a problem-solving attitude.
