We are looking for an experienced professional to join the Global Corporate and Policy Communications team as a Senior Manager. In this fast-paced role, you will develop and execute communications strategies to help advance our corporate narrative and public policy objectives across Europe, with a particular focus on the EU and key member states. We're looking for someone who has experience of managing both proactive and reactive communications around complex issues under close public scrutiny. The ideal candidate is highly motivated with excellent media relations skills, strong judgment, and the ability to swiftly forge strong relationships internally and externally. Working closely with our government relations team in the region, you will have a keen grasp of the political and regulatory landscape that allows you to identify and mitigate or seize challenges and opportunities for technology companies. You should have a proven ability to easily distill and communicate complex issues across areas including data security, election integrity and online safety for a wide range of audiences, and create clear messaging frameworks, talking points, and other assets that bring our story to life. Crucially, you are able to make swift decisions in dynamic situations and move fast under pressure, removing blockers and working across teams to achieve alignment among internal stakeholders. Responsibilities:- Develop and lead proactive and reactive communications strategies focused on policy and regulatory developments at the EU level and in key European markets.- Anticipate and manage reputational risks associated with emerging policy issues and public debates.- Build and maintain trusted relationships with key European media outlets, journalists, and relevant stakeholders.- Advise cross functional teams strategically on communications, ensuring consistency between corporate positioning and public policy messages.- Manage external PR agency partnerships, delivering impactful and measurable results.
Minimum Qualifications- 5+ years experience in corporate or policy communications roles, ideally involving European policy frameworks and regulatory environments- Track record of building strong media relationships, including with key correspondents and editors, especially among regulatory media - Strong understanding of political, regulatory, and cultural nuances across European countries. - Highly organised, with keen attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. - The ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment to deliver measurable impact Preferred Qualifications- Tech experience, along with experience of working in EU institutions, is an advantage but not a requirement - Ability to swiftly understand complex issues in areas of public policy such data security, privacy, child safety and other tech policy areas - Excellent written and oral communication skills in English (working language of the company) and French (Native language spoken in Brussels); fluency in another European language is highly beneficial given the locality and nature of the work
