Recruiting Hardware & Electronics Engineers in Belgium
We're currently recruiting a highly motivated Embedded Software Engineer for a customer in Louvain-la-Neuve, for a vacancy in which you will contribute to the design and development of cutting-edge sensor technologies used in numerous industries.
This role involves working on embedded software that enables sensors to accurately collect, process, and transmit data while meeting performance, power, and reliability requirements.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware engineers, firmware developers, data scientists, and systems engineers to ensure seamless integration of sensors into larger embedded systems.
The position requires expertise in low-level programming, real-time data processing, and communication protocols, with a focus on optimizing sensor performance for specific applications.
In this role, you will work on sensor drivers, real-time algorithms, signal processing techniques, and low-power optimizations for embedded platforms such as ARM Cortex-M, STM32, or custom ASICs.
Key Responsibilities
1. Develop, test, and optimize embedded software for sensor-based systems.
2. Implement and integrate sensor drivers, communication protocols (SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, etc.), and real-time processing algorithms.
3. Work with microcontrollers (ARM, PIC, STM32, etc.) and embedded platforms (RTOS, bare metal, or Linux-based).
4. Collaborate with hardware engineers to define software-hardware interfaces and troubleshoot sensor-related issues.
5. Develop and optimize firmware for low-power, high-precision sensing applications.
6. Conduct debugging, validation, and verification of embedded software using tools like JTAG, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
7. Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices for embedded systems development.
8. Document software architecture, design decisions, and test procedures.
Qualifications & Skills
1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Embedded Systems, or a related field.
2. 3+ years of experience in embedded software development.
3. Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems.
4. Experience with sensor integration, signal processing, and calibration techniques.
5. Knowledge of real-time operating systems (RTOS) and low-level firmware development.
6. Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
The Offer:
1. A salary & benefits package commensurate with experience.
2. The opportunity to work remotely.
