Position Overview
The position will be embedded within the Drug Delivery and Disposition research unit of the Department of Pharmaceutical and Pharmacological Sciences.
Responsibilities
* Initiate and perform research in the field of biopharmaceutics.
* Focus on the development and exploration of emerging technologies in biopharmaceutics.
* Publish results in high-impact peer-reviewed international journals and attract competitive research funds.
* Engage in the international biopharmaceutics research community.
* Interact within the multidisciplinary research environment of the Department of Pharmaceutical and Pharmacological Sciences and the Biomedical Sciences Group.
* Attract and supervise Master students and PhD researchers.
* Identify and pursue potential valorization of research results in collaboration with the technology transfer unit Leuven Research and Development.
Teaching
* Teaching assignment will include lectures and other teaching approaches within Bachelor and Master programs of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences.
* Contribute to the educational project of the Faculty by supervising master theses and as a promoter of PhD students.
* Develop teaching duties in accordance with KU Leuven's vision through activating and research-based education.
* Teaching assignment load will gradually increase based on qualifications.
Service
Take responsibility in management tasks of the Department and Faculty and in scientific and/or social communities.
Profile
* PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, (Bio)chemistry, Biology, (Bio)science engineering, or equivalent.
* In-depth pharmaceutical expertise with technical expertise in biopharmaceutics.
* At least 3 years of postdoctoral experience with biopharmaceutics in an academic and/or industry context.
* Strong research record and excellent teaching skills.
* High-impact publications in international peer-reviewed journals and successful grant applications.
* Good organizational skills and a team-player attitude.
* Proficiency in English is required; Dutch training will be provided if necessary.
