The Payroll Operations Specialist at Hightekers ensures accurate and compliant payroll processing across the Spanish market while optimizing payroll operations and improving efficiency. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented payroll professional who combines technical expertise with a proactive mindset to support seamless payroll execution and compliance.
Note: We do not work with external payroll providers. Therefore, we are looking for professionals with direct payroll execution experience.
The ideal candidate is:
* Payroll & Compliance Expert: Skilled in managing and processing end-to-end payroll operations, ensuring accuracy, tax compliance, and adherence to labor laws in Spain.
* Process Optimization & Efficiency Specialist: Uses payroll data analysis to identify process improvements, enhance efficiency, and ensure smooth payroll operations.
* Detail-Oriented & Analytical Thinker: Ensures payroll accuracy by maintaining meticulous records, validating payroll calculations, and producing compliance reports for internal and external stakeholders.
* Payroll System & Automation Expert: Experienced in payroll software (such as A3 Innuva for Spain) and automation tools, ensuring efficient payroll processing, system optimizations, and continuous process improvement.
* Cross-Functional Collaborator: Works closely with HR, Finance, and Sales teams to ensure payroll consistency, provide insights on payroll structures, and support business objectives with payroll-related data.
* Tech-Savvy Professional: Proficient in payroll software, tax compliance platforms, and reporting tools, ensuring seamless payroll execution and compliance with Spain-specific regulations.
Your Responsibilities in this role:
Payroll Processing & Compliance
1. Execute end-to-end payroll for Spain in collaboration with various teams and under the supervision of the Spanish Senior Payroll Manager.
2. Respond to employee inquiries related to payroll, tax calculations, and social security matters.
3. Ensure compliance with legal requirements for employee management, including new hires, terminations, and tax declarations.
4. Control and execute declarations in accordance with the tax calendar
5. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local labor laws and legal developments that impact payroll operations.
Process Optimization & Reporting
1. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance payroll efficiency.
2. Generate payroll reports for Finance and other relevant departments.
3. Conduct payroll simulations to support hiring decisions and workforce planning.
4. Ensure proper execution, monitoring, and control of social security payments and payroll-related taxes.
What you bring to the role and the team:
Required:
1. Fluency in Spanish (native) and a high level of English.
2. Spanish Degree in Labor Relations, Accounting or HR with a Payroll specialization.
3. Diploma in Payroll (Diploma de Nóminas) is a must.
4. 2-3 years of experience in Spanish payroll direct processing.
5. Proficiency in A3 payroll software (A3 Innuva or A3 Asesor), Siltra, Sistema Red, Contrat@
6. Knowledge of social security systems, pension schemes, and employee benefits.
7. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in payroll calculations.
8. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
9. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across teams.
