We wish to appoint a Head of Construction for Benelux. The role will cover all aspects of Construction Service delivery in Belgium and the Netherlands.
As our construction projects vary in location, the successful candidate will be required to travel to support the Benelux Operation Unit (between the Offices located close to Waterloo and Bornem) and Project Sites within the entire area. The role is a senior client-facing role requiring the ability to develop client relationships and to lead the Construction Scope of projects from client briefing through proposal preparation, setting construction execution strategy in conjunction with the Head of Benelux Operations (to whom the role reports directly) and the Head of Construction of Western Europe (which the role reports functionally to), and supporting set up and delivery.
Responsibilities
1. Overall responsibility for the development and management of the Construction Service business delivered by the Benelux Business Unit.
2. Work closely with the PM Group Western Europe Management to grow, enhance and continually develop the overall service delivery.
3. Ensure that the Construction Service delivery complies fully with PM Group systems and procedures.
4. Support new Business Development, client-facing and as proposal manager for all Benelux CM proposals (to a pre-agreed scale) and manage the CM inputs to multiservice proposals.
5. Management of project Construction Services personnel including recruitment, liaison, onboarding, coordination, training, development and mentoring.
6. Flexibility to step in and lead construction projects on site as required.
7. Provide leadership in the areas of Construction Health & Safety, Construction QA/QC, Constructability, Contracts/Commercial and Project Controls.
8. Work closely with WE and Group Construction Services to enhance and develop the overall service delivery.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role you will have:
1. Demonstrated capability and leadership in Construction delivery within specialized industrial sectors (Life Sciences, Food & Mission Critical, Oil and Gas).
2. Demonstrated knowledge of the area.
3. Professional Qualification in Engineering or Construction / Project Management.
4. 10+ years of professional experience.
5. Excellent knowledge and understanding of H&S statutory requirements.
6. Proven people management experience.
7. Good understanding of contractual models and supply chain capability.
8. Strong presentation and written communication skills.
9. Strong influencing and negotiation skills.
10. A demonstrated ability to communicate and influence at management and operation level.
11. Proven Construction Business management track record.
12. Preferably Dutch speaking.
