Thales Belgium SA, Belgium competence center of Thales, is a company located on 2 sites, one in Tubize (near Brussels) and the other one in Herstal (near Liège). Thales Belgium, which employs more than 280 collaborators, is specialized in the design, development and supply of critical information systems for customers in the sectors of Defense, Security (including Cyber) and Aerospace.
In this context, we are looking for a Trade Compliance Analyst (M/F/X)
Presentation of the function:
The Trade Compliance Analyst joins a small multidisciplinary team of 3 people which supports the administrative, legal and operational activities of transport and customs of various products in the technological and defense fields for different sites located in Tubize and Herstal.
The Trade Compliance Analyst will manage Belgian and international licenses, export control and provide back-up as part of operations management. Ultimately, the Trade Compliance Analyst will act as a back-up to the Trade Compliance Officer, head of the team.
He/she will have internal contacts (purchasing, project managers, sales) and external contacts (the authorities of the Walloon region, customs, transport suppliers).
Main responsibilities:
• Management of requests and monitoring of national export and import licenses;
• Preparation of various reports;
• Contribution to the deployment of the entity’s compliance program;
• Supporting the functions concerned by providing an analysis of the applicable constraints, alerting where necessary to risks and proposing solutions in compliance with current Belgian and international regulations;
• The collection of information necessary for the instruction and administration of the authorizations necessary for import and export to ensure the continuity of operations;
• Exercise a duty to alert by informing the Trade Compliance Officer of any suspected or proven non-compliance;
• Ensure the traceability of operations carried out in accordance with current regulations;
• Provide the information necessary for internal and external audits.

• Provide support to customs functions
Desired profile:
• To have an initial experience in the field of Trade Compliance;
• Bachelor's degree in foreign trade, logistics and transport or other fields
or to have equivalent experience;
• Theoretical knowledge of national regulations relating to export controls.
• Knowledge of multimodal transport (ADR knowledge is a plus)
• Knowledge of the customs sector
• Fluency in English (written) and French
• Proactive communication and team spirit
• Demonstrate rigor, anticipation, organization and sense of responsibility
• Be able to deal with unforeseen situations, be reactive, able to find solutions quickly and make decisions
• Geographic mobility (between Tubize and Herstal)
• Flexibility in travel in relation to the priorities of one or the other site.
