The opportunity
EY's Strategy and Transactions (SaT) delivers strategic advice to both private and public clients. Within the Valuation, Modelling and Economics department, the EU Team, in particular, provides EU Institutions with economic, regulatory, policy expertise and strategy advice in the fields of sustainable mobility, energy and other network industries.
As a result of our consistent growth in this specific consulting space, we plan to expand our EU Team and are currently looking for a Manager with a background in transport economics, preferably related to EU policy and regulation in the aviation and rail sectors .
Key Responsibilities
Main Tasks:
1. Provision of qualified expert support to EU institutions;
2. You will work directly with clients and stakeholders (incl. working level meetings, workshops, stakeholder consultation meetings);
3. You will be responsible of the supervision and delivery of research papers, quantitative analyses for economic regulation, cost/benefit analyses, operational efficiency, analysis of value chain and sector assessments of the transport industry, impact assessments and other consulting assignments for the EU Institutions;
4. You will be responsible for the project management of assignments involving team members based throughout the EU, within and outside the EY network of offices;
5. You will support in the contractual management of projects awarded to EY and in the compliance of internal procedures/policies.
Additional Tasks:
6. You will lead and coach project teams;
7. You will plan and review delivery of junior colleagues (including workbooks, models and reports);
8. You will identify new opportunities, suitable EY value proposition, and will prepare level A methodology proposals for our clients.
Profile
9. Master’s Degree in Economics, Business Administration / Management, or related fields (preferably with focus on transport);
10. Knowledge of micro and macroeconomics, industrial organization, accounting, economic regulation;
11. Knowledge of quantitative research and analysis methodologies;
12. More than 5 years of professional experience (preferably in the aviation and rail sectors) in the following areas:
Economic regulation of network industries and/or competition economics;
EU law with focus on regulation of network industries and/or competition law;
Knowledge in aviation policy (ATM) covering the fields of safety, capacity and environment;
Single European Sky performance and charging scheme.
13. Excellent managerial and organizational skills, flexibility and ability to work under tight deadlines;
14. Excellent knowledge of English with good drafting and editorial skills.
