About the Role
As a Control & Automation Engineer, you’ll be the key player in automating energy projects. You’ll define the control philosophy for their energy plants and ensure seamless automation. This role reports to the Unit Manager.
What You´ll Do
* Take ownership of automation for assigned projects, working closely with design engineers and project managers.
* Develop process and control systems for biomass energy plants.
* Plan electrical drawings and PLC programming with the electrical design and programming team.
* Manage supplier quotations, purchase orders, and automation-related subcontracts.
* Define technical specifications and instrumentation for each project.
* Be the go-to person for automation topics, attending meetings and visiting sites at different project stages.
* Organize risk analysis and lead HAZOP meetings.
* Assist in automation-related project documentation, including P&ID, functional descriptions, and HMI manuals.
* Oversee external inspections for electrical and automation systems.
* Provide remote support for on-site teams during project commissioning.
What You Bring
* A master’s degree in electrotechnics, electromechanics, or equivalent experience.
* Basic knowledge of electrical design (Eplan), PLC (Siemens S7, TIA Portal, Rockwell), SCADA (WINCC, Intouch), and industrial networks.
* Passion for automation and eagerness to stay up to date with the latest trends.
* Strong technical communication skills and the ability to guide teams to successful project completion.
* Willingness to travel occasionally for short project visits.
* A collaborative mindset, excellent interpersonal skills.
* Proficiency in English, other languages are a plus.
* You live in the area of Harelbeke (maximum 40Km away)
