Purpose of the role:
Your role will be to support the development and execution of business development (BD) strategies that drive growth in the M&A space in alignment with firm and client and sectors strategy. With strong product insights, you will identify opportunities, drive cross-selling, and execute client-centric BD activities. You will use data-led intelligence to inform BD strategy, strengthen client relationships, and influence senior stakeholders to drive profitable revenue growth.
Key responsibilities and challenges:
BD Strategy & Planning
1. Support the development and implementation of BD plans that drive growth across the M&A space.
2. Help to ensure that local product and client targeting strategy is aligned with global M&A growth objectives, and broader firm strategy.
3. Develop a strong network across global BD teams, and the Business Development & Marketing (BDM) function more broadly, to ensure the local office remains fully connected to the global network and strategy.
4. Ensure alignment with global processes and leverage, to the maximum extent, global resources and tools, including the firm's shared services.
Product focused Business Development
1. Help develop and execute focused product, sector and client growth plans and facilitate cross-selling opportunities with the wider global product teams.
2. Provide timely and high-quality input into win strategies and market-leading pitch and panel submissions, working closely with Pitching teams.
3. Work closely with Sector & Client BD teams to drive M&A growth in relation to priority sectors and market opportunities.
4. Work closely with Marketing teams to create compelling product-led go-to-market campaigns to engage target clients.
5. Drive analysis of relevant products, markets, and clients to inform and support further growth.
6. Support the office to engage in any European/global initiatives such as the client insights (feedback) programme to strengthen client relationships and deliver against the firm's strategy.
Product Opportunity Development and Market Intelligence
1. Drive and leverage data-led insights to support horizon scanning, opportunity spotting, information sharing and pipeline management of M&A, both locally and more broadly across the global team.
2. Gather and analyse market information and monitor external trends to inform the creation of BD strategies.
3. Monitor Sector / Product trackers to generate cross-selling opportunities.
4. Fully leverage the capabilities offered by our MarTech and data infrastructure to ensure product orientated insights are proactive, targeted and fit for purpose.
Your experience:
· Minimum of 7 years’ experience, ideally in a professional services organisation, with a demonstrable track record in BD and marketing or in a role with considerable exposure to BD and marketing.
· Deep knowledge and understanding of the M&A space.
· Evidence of dealing with and influencing senior management and obtaining buy-in.
· Experience creating compelling client documents (e.g. pitches) to tight deadlines with high attention to detail.
· Strong experience of data-driven opportunity spotting to drive profitable revenue growth.
· Client-centric mindset focused on relationship growth and the client experience.
· Comfortable with data, analytics and creating a compelling data-driven narrative to get buy-in from senior stakeholders.
· Strong stakeholder management skills, across all levels, internal and external.
