SUPPORT ENGINEER - BRUSSELS (BELGIUM) - PERMANENT POSITION
We're currently recruiting a skilled and motivated Support Engineer for a position located in Brussels, in which you would join an IT team and play a key role in maintaining the health and performance of internal systems and user environments.
This position combines elements of system administration, technical troubleshooting, and user support, making it ideal for a well-rounded IT professional who thrives in a dynamic, hands-on environment.
As a Support Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of Linux-based infrastructure, virtualization environments, and network components.
You will work closely with team members across departments to resolve technical issues, implement IT solutions, and maintain a secure and efficient computing environment.
Your ability to diagnose problems, communicate clearly, and deliver timely support will directly contribute to the productivity and success of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide IT support for hardware, software, and networking issues across the organization.
* Perform system administration tasks, including server setup, maintenance, updates, and backups.
* Manage and troubleshoot Linux-based systems and services.
* Administer virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, VirtualBox, KVM).
* Configure and maintain networking devices, including switches, routers, and firewalls.
* Monitor system performance and respond to incidents promptly.
* Assist in user onboarding/offboarding, account setup, and access control.
* Document technical procedures, incident resolutions, and system configurations.
* Collaborate with other IT team members to support infrastructure projects.
Requirements:
* Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in a similar IT support or system administration role.
* Solid understanding of Linux operating systems (Ubuntu, CentOS, etc.).
* Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, KVM, or similar).
* Good knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, firewalls).
* Proficiency in general PC hardware/software troubleshooting.
* Familiarity with basic scripting (Bash, Python, or PowerShell) is a plus.
* Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
