For our business unit Offshore Wind, we are hiring a Senior Cost Estimator. This position is based in Hoboken (Antwerp). Physical presence in the office is required for 4 days a week.

As a Cost Estimator, your primary responsibility is to analyze, collate and estimate the costs involved in large offshore wind construction projects. You evaluate all relevant factors including materials, labor, subcontracts, equipment, overheads and contingencies to provide accurate cost assessments to support the tendering and commercial activities.
Your key responsibilities:
1. analyzing project requirements: review tender documentation, specifications and other documentation to understand scope and requirements
2. gathering data: collect data on materials, labor rates, equipment and other relevant factors from colleagues, suppliers, subcontractors and historic information (where relevant)
3. cost estimation: develop and utilize specialized software and/or calculation models to estimate all of the costs accurately
4. risk assessment: together with colleagues identify potential risks and uncertainties that could affect the project duration or cost and incorporate contingency measures into the calculation model
5. collaboration: work closely with project and tender managers, engineers and other stakeholders to refine project requirements and ensure accurate cost projections
6. documentation: prepare detailed cost estimates, reports and presentations for internal review and client presentations
7. continuous improvement: stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, new technologies and feedback from executed projects to enhance the cost estimation process and accuracy
What do you need to excel in this function?
8. bachelors degree in construction, management, engineering, finance or a related field
9. certification from a relevant professional organization is desirable but not mandatory
10. proven experience in cost estimation in complex projects, preferably for the offshore industry
11. knowledge of industry regulations, standards and best practices
12. strong analytical and mathematical skills, with an attention to detail
13. proficiency in using calculation software
14. excellent communication and interpersonal skills
15. ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
16. ability to adapt to changing project requirements and deadlines
17. excellent English skills, both written and spoken. Dutch or French is also desirable, but not mandatory. Any other languages are a benefit
