The O pportunity
We are looking for a trilingual Legal Counsel with at least 5 years of relevant professional experience, in an international company, with focus on drafting, negotiating and follow up of all commercial and other contracts.
You will be part of the Worldline Benelux Legal Team and you will be based in Brussels (Haren) and report to the Head of Legal Belgium and the Netherlands.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
1. Drafting, negotiating and follow up of all commercial and other agreements or other legal documents, in accordance with group standards and to ensure the Benelux companies’ full legal rights;
2. You can handle complex files and negotiations independently;
3. Handle requests for legal support from Worldline Group Legal, e.g. in support of merger projects, corporate governance, etc.;
4. Handling disputes and following up of litigations;
5. Providing general and specialized legal advice to colleagues from other departments;
6. Ensuring availability and updates of standard lease and other contractual documents for our commercial and technical teams;
7. Managing external counsels;
8. You advise on internal policies and ensure the compliance with laws and guidelines related to business activities;
9. You research and evaluate different legal risk factors regarding business decisions and operations;
10. You apply effective legal risk management techniques and offer proactive advice on possible legal issues;
11. You communicate and negotiate with external parties (regulators, external counsel, public authority etc.), creating relations of trust.
Who Are We Looking For
12. You have a Master degree in law
13. You have an excellent knowledge of Dutch, English and French;
14. You have a relevant experience as a legal counsel in an international business environment and the ability to create legal defensive or proactive strategies
15. You demonstrate a high degree of professional ethics and integrity;
16. You keep up with current changes on all relevant areas of laws and contributing to the enhancement of the knowledge base of the companies’ legal function.
17. You possess knowledge and understanding of corporate law and procedures;
18. You possess solid negotiation skills and are able to bring across your point in physical meetings as well as during conference calls;
19. You have sound judgement and ability to quickly analyze situations and information
20. You demonstrate strong research skills when preparing for a case or providing advice;
21. You are able to work under time constraints and pressure;You have experience working in a high-demanding and regulated environment and are stress resilient
22. You show proficiency with Microsoft Office products;
23. You have outstanding communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills and are willing to go the extra mile in order to get the job done;
24. You have a proactive, flexible and solution driven attitude;
25. You are organized, methodical, with a keen eye for and attention to detail;
26. You are a team player, but at the same time able to work autonomously;
27. You have practical knowledge of data protection law.
