It has a successful track record of over sixty years of drug discovery and development, and it is one of the most important innovation engines of the J&J group worldwide.The Chemical Process Research and Development (CPRD) department is seeking a Pilot Plant Director to join our team in Belgium. CPRD has three state-of-the-art chemical pilot plants in Beerse and Geel which support the development of new chemical processes and produce Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) used in clinical trials. The pilot plants are constantly innovating their technology and data infrastructure to accommodate future product and development needs. As a people leader, the Director is responsible for the day-to-day operations in these pilot plants with a high focus on safety, quality, reliability, and innovation. The Director works closely with scientists, engineers, safety, and quality to seamlessly upscale these new products and deliver the best manufacturing processes. The Geel site is the J&J commercial launch site for new products, and as a member of the Geel site leadership team, you also play an important role in bridging between CPRD and the commercial production organization. Talent development of the team members and shaping a high-performing team is also a high priority for this people leader.QualificationsExperience and SkillsPh.D. in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering, with 5-10 years of experience in the Chemical Industry within the area of process chemistry/chemical operations preferred.Master's in chemistry or chemical engineering or similar with 10 or more years of industrial experience in development/operations in the chemical industry.Strong people leader with previous experience in leading teams.Understanding of process safety, compliance, and process development & engineering aspects.Passionate to work in a team and energized about people and organization development.You create a culture of safety, quality, agility, and scientific curiosity in your team in combination with high engagement at all levels.You initiate action to assure security of supply.Hands-on experience in pilot or large-scale manufacturing plants.Challenge the status quo.Johnson & Johnson is an Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity Employer.
