We are hiring a Global Communications Officer to be based in either our London office or Brussels office, and will sit within our impactful and collaborative external affairs function, which includes communications, digital, political and campaigning specialists, alongside fundraising and development. The Global Communications Officer will report to a Global Communications Manager, and have a key relationship with the EU Communications Manager based in Brussels and the Global Communications Lead. Meet your Manager
In this role, you will be managed by Ellen Baker who joined ClientEarth in 2015 and is based in London. Ellen works in the Strategic Communications team, overseeing and delivering multi-channel media campaigns internationally to challenge the status quo on climate and nature and directly influence the behaviours of governments and companies. Working with lawyers and policy experts in the programme teams, she has used strategic media and campaigning work to turn our court action in courts in the UK, Germany and across the EU into major political and corporate impetus for change. Ellen speaks English, French, German and Italian.
Main Duties
1. Develop, implement and measure innovative communications to support the strategic objectives of key programmatic work supported by the Global Communications Managers.
2. Create impactful content and key messages that helps to engage and influence key decision-makers.
3. Coordinate the delivery of sustained, high-profile and positive communications across all channels, working closely with the Digital team.
4. Represent ClientEarth in relevant national and international coalitions as required, bringing our expertise to the table and adding value to joint communications.
5. Develop relationships to match the strategic needs of relevant programme teams, including with journalists, partner organisations and others who can help us deliver our messages.
6. Help add value to the work of our partners in other countries by contributing to communications plans and the delivery of those plans.

Role requirements
7. Proven experience producing engaging press releases and gaining impactful media coverage in mainstream news outlets at national or international level, in line with strategic goals (essential)
8. Experience of devising and delivering multi-channel communications campaigns (essential)
9. An interest in environmental issues such as climate change, and their social ramifications (essential) and an awareness of how climate change is considered in the business and financial sectors internationally (desirable).
10. Fluent in English and any other languages e.g. Spanish, French, German or Italian
