As Road Freight Planner you would be responsible for:
* Transport Coordination: Manage the transport process from start to finish, including planning and organizing trucks for the transportation of goods.
* Documentation: Prepare and verify transport documents, such as consignment notes and customs documents.
* Communication: Act as a point of contact for clients and carriers; maintain strong relationships with all stakeholders.
* Problem Solving: Identify and resolve logistical issues that may arise during transportation.
* Rate Negotiations: Negotiate rates with carriers to ensure cost-effective solutions.
* Compliance: Ensure adherence to all relevant laws and regulations regarding transport and logistics.
Requirements
* Education: A bachelor’s degree in logistics, transport management, or a related field is required.
* Experience: Proven experience in the logistics sector, preferably in a role as a freight forwarder or transport planner.
* Language Skills: A good command of Dutch, French, and English is a plus.
* Skills: Strong organizational skills, problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication skills.
* Process Improvement Focus: Strong interest and experience in identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in transport operations.
* Computer Skills: Good knowledge of logistics software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word); experience with ERP systems is an advantage.
* Customer Orientation: Strong customer-oriented mindset with the ability to understand and respond to customer needs. You can handle work pressure well.
