To support our growth, we are seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (m/f) with expertise in transmissions and an analytical approach to design evaluation.
What will be your role?
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will play a key role in shaping the next generation of drive units while contributing to our innovation projects. You will leverage your extensive experience to provide technical oversight, challenge design decisions, and ensure the robustness and reliability of our mechanical systems. Reporting directly to the Mechanical team lead, your analytical insights will guide critical decisions regarding the performance, manufacturability, and durability of our components.
What will be your main responsibilities?
• Lead the design and development of transmission components (gears, shafts, bearings, etc.) within our drive units.
• Perform in-depth analysis to evaluate the performance and reliability of mechanical designs and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Participate in design reviews, offering expert insights and challenging assumptions to ensure optimal engineering outcomes.
• Oversee collaboration with suppliers to ensure designs are optimised for manufacturing and aligned with our quality and cost objectives.
• Stay abreast of the latest trends in electric mobility, transmission technology, and mechanical design, integrating new methodologies into our projects.
Profile / Requirements :
What is your profile?
• A Master's degree in Engineering or a specialized mechanical design discipline.
• Proven experience with transmission systems, including motors, gears, bearings, shafts, and their mechanical loads.
• Strong proficiency in CAD tools (SolidWorks, etc.) for modelling and creating engineering drawings.
• Extensive knowledge of Design for Manufacturing (plastic injection, aluminium die-casting) and the ability to collaborate effectively with suppliers.
• Expertise in GD&T standards and a keen eye for detail in creating accurate and clear drawings.
• Fluent in English, with working proficiency in French being an advantage.
