The Regulatory Affairs Expert is a member of the Tribe Legal & Regulatory. Under the supervision of the Director Regulatory & Compliance, the Regulatory Affairs Expert provides regulatory advice, representation and support. This in relation to a broad range of regulatory topics, focused on the services and products of Telenet and companies in which Telenet has invested in.
You responsibilities as a Regulatory Affairs Expert
1. Define the Regulatory Affairs policy that is necessary for the implementation of the strategy of Telenet.
2. Representing Telenet in relevant regulatory files towards internal and external stakeholders (regulators, authorities, sector organizations).
3. Monitoring relevant regulation and market evolutions.
4. Drafting position paper on relevant regulatory matters.
5. Presenting and defending positions towards internal and external stakeholders.
6. Ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements in close cooperation with the business.
7. Acting as a legal point of contact for these matters internally and externally towards law firms.
8. Advising on the implementation of new legislation.
9. Preventing Telenet to incur regulatory fines.
10. Contributing to the wider goals and mission of the Tribe and Telenet.

Our ideal Regulatory Affairs Expert
15. You have a Master’s degree in law.
16. Relevant professional experience, of which (preferably) a few years responsible for regulation at a lobbying firm or as in-house regulatory expert.
17. Keen interest in Telenet, as a company and the technology and media sector.
18. Good understanding of the political and regulatory environments at European Union and Belgian level.
19. Familiar with telecoms and media regulation, both at European, national and regional level, or other regulated sectors is of added value. Knowledge of IP and copyright law is of added value.
20. Fluent in Dutch and English. Good understanding of French.
21. Both a team player (coordinate with others, share knowledge, …) and able to work independently. Excellent communication skills and a real team player with a sense of humor.
22. Good drafting skills and a strong presenter.
23. Able to grasp and analyse a wide variety of (sometimes complex) questions and large quantities of information.
24. Combines good technical legal and regulatory knowledge with a keen commercial focus.
